Charity Costume Jewelry Sale at Delmanor Glen Abbey!

Charity Costume Jewelry Sale at Delmanor Glen Abbey!

Costume jewelry can add flair to any outfit and the residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey had the heart to turn such items of embellishment into a lasting good. A call was put out for residents to look over their collections of costume jewelry, and any unwanted items could be donated to be sold with all proceeds going to the Ian Anderson House. The generosity that was shown was extraordinary, as piles of shine and sparkle were brought in by the box!

The day of  the fundraising jewelry sale arrived and help poured in from all directions. From setup to take down and everything in between, everyone wanted to contribute in some way. Laughs were had and recommendations were made as the residents tried on what could be the missing piece of their new Spring ensemble. Everyone was more than happy to splurge knowing that the Ian Anderson House would benefit. By the end, over $200 was graciously collected, turning material glam into efforts and motions to help such a worthy cause.

Ian Anderson House is Ontario’s first in-resident cancer hospice.  It offers, without charge, quality end-of-life palliative care in a home-like setting to individuals diagnosed with terminal cancer and a limited life expectancy.

Delmanor Glen Abbey is often creative when developing fundraising ideas for the Ian Anderson House, and this one was certainly a success. Everyone at Delmanor Glen Abbey looks forward to coming up with new ways they can contribute to the community and to help those in need.
