Delmanor Wynford had the distinct privilege of providing a decadent Holiday lunch for the distinguished ladies of the University Arts Women’s Club during their annual Christmas gathering held at the University of Toronto President’s Residence.
Within the hallowed halls of a building steeped in history was a group of women who had become friends decades ago and still nurture these relationships. They are very important to each other as is renewing the history they share. The Women’s Club at the University of Toronto is the very first University Women’s Club in Canada, formed in 1903.
The formal dining room welcomed the ladies with Chicken vol au vent, a light salad, and beautiful Christmas cookies and desserts. Following the luncheon, the ladies moved into the parlour for some Christmas sing-a-longs, coffee and wonderful conversation.
Friendships that have spanned 50 or 60+ years are precious. It was evident that these women are as important to each other as the wonderful group that provides this valuable sense of belonging to all of its members.
