Delmanor Glen Abbey’s Christmas Tree Tradition

Delmanor Glen Abbey’s Christmas Tree Tradition

Christmas is a time for giving to loved ones and friends, as well as to those that may be in need. The residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey were happy this year to have set up a ‘Teddy Bear Tree’ in the month of December where people can donate teddy bears, soon to be in the arms of children whose greatest Christmas wish is for something soft and warm to hug. Being a Delmanor tradition, the residents were always sure to admire the quickly growing assortment of stuffed animals as the tree gradually became more bear than tree. Extra vendors were brought in with an assortment of furry friends for residents to purchase, assuring that everyone had a chance to contribute to such a worthy cause.

Once the tree was completely covered, the local Fire Department was happy to retrieve the bears and distribute them to children who will be having an extra special Christmas this year thanks to the residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey.
This group project involving every resident not only helps those in need but also helps form a bond between residents sharing a common goal. Everyone had a chance to feel like Santa, knowing that their gifts would soon be getting all the love and hugs only a child can give.
