The promotion of life-long learning is key to successful aging. At Delmanor Glen Abbey, residents are presented with several opportunities to take part in continuing education. Just recently, they welcomed Loretta Penny, from Down to Earth Conservation Education, to present to the residents on the topic of “World Issues: Vanishing Cultures”. This very captivating and engaging presentation interested all attendees immediately.
She took residents on a journey that began 40,000 generations ago learning about how indigenous peoples of the world share common value, knowledge, struggles, spiritual traditions and have a rich vibrant history. Her powerful visuals and stories allowed residents to build a picture in their mind and understand the connection to our first peoples and how their survival benefitted all mankind.
Everyone in attendance was captivated with the content of the lecture, as well as the presentation skills of Loretta. It was a very interesting, informative and entertaining experience for all!
