Delmanor Prince Edward Residents and family members joined together in the Drawing Room for a musical experience from a talented mother and son duo performing a classical piano and violin concert.
Ellen, who is Evan’s Mother, began studying piano from the age of five, and attended the Musical College of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She has appeared in numerous recitals at the Arts & Letters Club, the Toronto Centre for the Arts, Glenn Gould Studio, and the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
Ellen Annor-Adjei has extensive teaching experience in Europe and North America. She was on the faculty of University Settlement Music and Arts School from 1996-2011. In 2012 Ellen Annor-Adjei became the director and the founder of Musical Arts Academy. One of the important objectives of the Musical Arts Academy is to provide students with a more well-rounded musical education to make them realize that music is the form of arts that makes our lives rich, enjoyable and complete.
Ellen’s son Evan started studying violin from the age of six. Presently, Evan is studying at the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for young artists in the class of Marie Bernard. Evan has participated in numerous music festivals and competitions including the North York Music Festival, Kiwanis Music Festival, the Inter-Harmony International Music Festival in Italy, and in Germany where he performed as a soloist as well as in chamber groups and an orchestra. In 2017 Evan proudly became a member of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Evan was a first prize winner of the Canadian Music Competition in 2018, and the second prize winner of a music competition in Spain called “Nights in Madrid”.
This wonderful mother and son team astounded the audience with their skills and amazing performances. Residents were touched by the beautiful classical music that brought joy and happiness to all!
