Honoring the brave men and women who are serving our country oversees is very important to the Residents and team members at Delmanor Prince Edward, especially over the holidays.
As we are all sharing special holiday times with friends and family, there are many military personnel that are away from loved ones. The Prince Edward Residents and team members were determined to bring some joy and happiness to our troops, so they sat down and penned one hundred and twenty Christmas cards each with special messages for our troops.
Some cards contained funny jokes to help lift spirits, and others included prayers for safety and well-being. Resident Veterans were able to write unique messages sharing their own stories and personal perspectives about their years in the military, especially those that included Christmases away from family.
While we often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is important that we don’t forget the soldiers and their families that are sacrificing for each of us. While we can not take away the heartache felt by soldiers that are away from loved ones, the Delmanor Prince Edward Residents were hopeful that their messages of support, respect and thanks helped even one soldier feel less alone this holiday season.
