Two very special epicurean evenings were recently held at Delmanor Prince Edward much to the delight of our Residents.
Fresh Ontario peaches from our neighbouring Niagara region were highlighted at the Peach Festival Dinner. Not only are Ontario peaches sweet, soft and delicious, they are also an excellent source of vitamins A and C. Peaches are known to reduce anxiety and are often referred to as the fruit of calmness, our bodies love them for the burst of energy they provide.
The mouthwatering dinner began with an appetizer of prosciutto wrapped grilled Ontario peaches. The delicious entrée of rosemary, sage and peach stuffed pork loin with dijon mustard glaze or seared Ontario lake trout with peach and mango salsa were full of flavour and appealingly plated. Accompanying the scrumptious entrée were roasted vegetables and creamed potato. To complete the meal, a decadent dessert of peach bread pudding with bourbon custard sauce was served to a highly satisfied and extremely happy group of Residents.
On another warm August evening, Residents were treated to an Oyster Shucking Festival and Dinner that became a highlight of our outstanding summer dining experiences. Chef G and Anthony from AllSeas Fisheries put on quite a demonstration! Allseas Fisheries has grown from a small local seafood wholesaler to one of the largest seafood distribution companies in Canada.

With the skilled hands of Chef G, his talented team and Anthony from AllSeas Fisheries, it was one SHELL of an event!
