As Virginia Woolf’s, A Room of One’s Own saying goes, “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” The Residents of Delmanor Prince Edward are loving the delicious meals and programming that is available to make them continue to love life, even during a challenging time such as this.
Throughout the month of September, Residents enjoyed a splendid Fall apple festival. Meals included butternut squash & apple soup, apple cranberry sage chicken, grilled pork chops with maple apple glaze served with creamy spinach, heirloom carrots and mashed sweet potatoes. Home made apple strudel with vanilla glacé was served as a highlight of the Fall harvest menu.
Residents continued to enjoy September’s harvest with the “Taste of Italy” which began with coconut shrimp soup, and a trio of homemade pizzas baked outdoors on the Riverside patio in an authentic pizza oven! A meat lovers pizza margherita and grilled chicken pizza was plated along with Chef G’s famous caesar salad. Of course, a dinner wouldn’t be complete without a delicious dessert consisting of yogurt and fresh berry compote.
For those early morning breakfast lovers, Residents were eager to awake to a pancake breakfast with maple syrup and fresh whipped cream with berries, as the perfect beginning to a cool Autumn day!
Happiness is found in many places and in many ways for different people. The Delmanor Prince Edward Residents are loving that they are able to safely socialize with friends while taking part in special events and programs while dining on the highest quality cuisine.
