Remembrance Day is an honoured tradition that is recognized each year by Residents and team members at Delmanor Glen Abbey.
Residents loaned memorabilia for a display table to honour the memories and sacrifices that were made during war times. The Glen Abbey library displayed books that showcased the history of WWI and WWII to remind us of our Canadian history and all that we have to be grateful for.
The Delmanor Glen Abbey Chef prepared beautiful poppy cupcakes for the Residents for a delicious afternoon treat. Our Veterans were given lovely boutonnières to wear while they dined on a special menu that was served to them in our private dining room that consisted of steak and jumbo shrimp with roasted potatoes, carrot puree and sautéed asparagus that was followed by s’mores cheesecake!
This very important annual event had to be altered somewhat from our traditional routine, however the day was honoured and our Residents were able to pay tribute to all of our national heroes to whom we owe so much.
