Delmanor Northtown invited Residents and guests to join in for a ZOOM presentation featuring the Royal Ontario Museum’s Christian Dior Exhibit.
The end of the war became the start of a fashion revolution. In celebration of the House of Dior’s 70th anniversary, Christian Dior explored the brilliance behind the dramatic creations that revived the Paris haute couture industry, after the Second World War.
In 1947 the “New Look”, with soft shoulders, padded hips and long full skirts, swept away the wartime masculine designs and made Christian Dior’s postwar fashion desired, worn and copied by women and designers around the world.
We learned about the history of the breathtaking fashions that took women from daytime to evening wear and grand occasions. For those that appreciate fashion and history, this was an exquisite display of craftsmanship and artistry through clothing from this golden age.
