Relive the story of Maria and the Von Trapp family as Fran Townend and Kevin Dashney playing all the character, with costumes, music and laughter enjoy and sing along with Maria, Captain Von Trapp, the Nuns Rolf, Leisl and Gretel singing Climb Every Mountain, My Favourite Things, Edelweiss, I am Sixteen, Do-Re-Mi and many more. Brain Health and Exercise
Thursday, October 3rd at 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Please join Judy Chu Fitness Specialist and Health Educator as she examines evidence-based research on how exercise can be a preventive measure for Dementia/Alzheimer’s and other physical/health benefits; the how to exercise message; and simple take home strategies. Refreshments to follow.

The Science of Happiness
Tuesday, October 8th at 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Brenda Jasmin who is a “Happiness Coach” and renowned speaker will visit Delmanor to speak on the “Science of Happiness.” You will learn three easy-to-use, research-based strategies for boosting your own happiness and well-being.  This special lecture has limited space for seating. Refreshments to follow.

Oktoberfest with the Sparklettes
Thursday, October 10th at 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Come celebrate Oktoberfest at Delmanor Elgin Mills. Enjoy the traditional foods which go along with the festival. Soft pretzels and mustard, cold beer or a glass of white German wine and of course a slice of delicious apple strudel as you sit and enjoy entertainment by the Sparklettes.

Service Canada Presentation
Thursday, October 24th at 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Stacey Morning a representative from Service Canada will deliver an information session relating to Services for Seniors. The presentation will also touch on general information about Service Canada. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, and information materials will be provided. Refreshments to follow.

Grief is Not a Four Letter Word
Wednesday, October 30th at 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Janice Goldmintz will look at all the aspects of grief, and how it is a part of normal life. Janice will create a safe space to talk about we each grieve, what works for us and what does not. Janice will explore how we can support someone who is grieving. Refreshments to follow.
